Terms of Service

The service

TruthScroll is a Bible study tool offering scripture reading, search, original- language study notes, Saved Studies, an AI-assisted Q&A feature (Ask), and an AI-assisted family discipleship lesson generator (Family). Scripture text is drawn from the public-domain King James Version.

Accounts

Signing in requires a valid email address and uses passwordless "magic link" authentication. You're responsible for keeping access to your email account secure, since that's what controls access to your TruthScroll account. You must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent/guardian's permission, to create an account.

Your content

Notes, highlights, study collections, and edited lessons you create remain yours. By saving them, you grant us a license to store and display that content back to you as part of providing the service. We don't claim ownership of it, and we don't share it with anyone else.

Free access and optional support

Core Scripture and study features are offered without charge. TruthScroll may offer optional one-time support purchases through the applicable app store. Support does not unlock or restrict access to core features, and support purchases do not renew automatically.

Prices are shown before purchase. Payments are made to The Basement Group LLC, help fund TruthScroll's operation, and are not charitable donations or tax-deductible. A portion of supporter revenue is intended to support local Christian mission groups.

AI-generated content

The Ask and Family features use an AI model to generate answers and lesson content. This content is generated, not sourced from a human theologian or pastor -- while we ground answers in real scripture text where possible, AI responses can be incomplete, oversimplified, or occasionally mistaken. AI-generated content is not a substitute for pastoral guidance, professional counsel, or your own study of scripture -- verify anything important against the biblical text itself and consult a qualified pastor or teacher for matters of real consequence.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or abuse the Ask/Family features to generate content unrelated to their intended purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service's operation.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Third-party services

TruthScroll relies on third-party services (Supabase, OpenAI, bible-api.com, Vercel) to operate -- see our Privacy Policy for details. We aren't responsible for outages or issues originating from those services.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

TruthScroll is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will always be accurate. To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Basement Group LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes to the service or these terms

We may modify or discontinue features of the service, and may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes to these terms, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
